A Dream of Another’s Dream
A Dream of Another’s Dream, 2025
Work developed during a 2024/2025 GLEAN Residency. During the GLEAN residency, I was drawn to discarded photographs—intimate fragments of lives once lived, now cast aside. Paired with other personal objects like jewelry, clothing, and household items, these anonymous images became the foundation for a body of work that explores grief, erasure, generosity, and the emotional residue of memory.
Through assemblage, quilting, weaving, mending, and image obfuscation, I examine what we choose to preserve, what we try to forget, and how loss can be transformed into connection. Each piece invites close looking and quiet contemplation—a brief entry into the haunting intimacy of someone else’s world.
This work frames compassion not as fragility but as a radical, resilient force. Rather than offering resolution, these pieces dwell in discovery and reflection—inviting viewers to acknowledge the impermanence of what we hold dear and the quiet strength found in acts of care.
